No Surprise Billing

In 2019, Colorado passed a law that protects Colorado consumers with state regulated health insurance plans from being balance-billed for unknowingly receiving care outside of their insurance network.  Effective January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act, which Congress passed as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, is designed to protect patients from surprise bills for emergency services at out-of-network facilities or for out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, holding them liable only for in-network cost-sharing amounts.

The No Surprises Act also enables uninsured patients (self pay patients) to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of the cost of your care.  Please check out the attachments under the heading "No Surprise Billing" for further information.

You are still responsible for any out-of-pocket costs required by your insurance plan.  The rate you pay is based on your set in-network rate for that care, you can find out what this amount is before any procedure by calling your insurance company.  Our insurance coordinator is also available to go over your insurance benefits with you prior to your surgical procedure to discuss deductible, co-insurance and copays required at time of service.
